Diversifying the curriculum

In the above screencast I discuss my Part 3 module ‘Global Literatures: Translation as Theme and Theory‘, which uses a learning journal to structure students’ engagement with texts and contexts from across the world. This talk takes the format of a ‘pecha kucha’ – 20 seconds per slide! – and was first presented at GlobalFest at the University of Reading in July 2019. You can view a video recording of the original talk here.

Read here about how I diversified the introductory module ‘Research and Criticism‘, so that all students of English Literature at the University of Reading encounter anglophone texts from across the world, and understand how identities like race, gender, and sexuality are discursively constructed.
